Position Description:

Lumbee Homes is a Christian-owned company providing manufactured homes to individuals across the Carolina’s. At Lumbee Homes, we strive to provide our customers with an extraordinary experience that each new homeowner deserves.

The Service Technician is key to a successful Home Center. The primary responsibility of this position is to repair common service problems associated with manufactured housing. In order to accomplish this, a Service Technician must possess numerous and varied “handyman” skills. The primary goal of a Service Technician is to ensure our customers are happy and remain happy with their homes after they move in.

  • Possess valid driver’s license and auto insurance;

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass criminal background check as well as post-offer drug screen;
  • Possess basic carpentry skills (i.e. trim work, roofing, replace windows, realign doors, patch wallboard);
  • Possess basic repair skills (i.e. repair/replace toilets, water heaters, light fixtures, door/cabinet hardware);
  • Ability to work in all environments (extreme heat/cold, rain/snow);
  • Ability to lift and move furniture, wallboard, water heater, etc. (100 lbs.);
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time;
  • Order parts and materials for home repair;
  • Bill back the plant on warranty issues;
  • Organize, schedule and file customer service issues;
  • Maintain good Home Center appearance

As a Lumbee Homes Home Consultant, your job is to provide an outstanding experience for each of our customers from the beginning to the end of the home-purchasing process. You will accomplish this goal by assisting prospective customers in identifying a floor plan, selecting their desired options, and coordinating the construction process.

To be successful in this role, Home Consultants must be able to create a positive relationship with our customers and contractors that allows prospective customers to have the confidence to select Lumbee Homes as their housing solution.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lumbee Ambassador – Protect the Lumbee Homes branding and assets by maintaining a high level of integrity throughout the sales process.
  • Active Learner – Be willing to develop expertise in areas such as finance mortgage concepts, product, sales acumen, sales presentation skills and your local market.
  • Customer Follow-up – Maintain customer files and provide timely follow-up with prospective buyers.
  • Merchandising – Assist general manager by helping select inventory, decorate model homes and maintain their appearance.
  • Product Demonstration – Show prospective customers display homes, demonstrate features and benefits to create added value.
  • Sales – Facilitate the buying process by building trust, meeting needs and converting prospective customers to satisfied homeowners.
  • World Class Customer Service – Provide a great home buying experience by exceeding the customer expectations and honoring commitments.
